Power House Falls is located on the Falls River. The river is about 40 wide here and drops 15 feet. The falls is named for the old power house that stands next to it.

Things to Do near Powerhouse Falls

Baraga County sits along the shores of Keweenaw Bay at the entrance to the Copper Country. Baraga County Historical Museum, Ojibwa Casino, great fishing, snowmobiling, and outdoor recreation offers plenty for your exploration.

Check out the Shrine of Bishop Baraga that overlooks the majestic bay. Play a round of golf at the L’Anse Golf Club. Explore Craig Lake State Park for fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. Plenty of camping at the Ojibwa Park and Campground or at the L’Anse Township Park and Campground.

The Sandy Point Lighthouse is a great additional to the Copper Country Lighthouse Tour.  Up for an adventure, how head out for a hike at Silver Mountain.

Information and Directions to Powerhouse Falls

Reaching this waterfall is easy. From US-41 about 1 mile south of L’Anse head west on Power Dam Road. There is a sign for the falls. Follow the road for about a mile. When it crosses the train tracks it branches. There is another sign for the falls. There is a small park at the falls.

There are a number of small drops just above the falls, and there are a dozen or so more between Power House Falls and the Middle Falls in L’Anse.
