This is due to the covered road as you travel towards Freda on County Road South 554. The magical effects of the fall colors transport you to a time away from time. It has been described by many as the "Solemn Halls" of Freda. Come explore by heading towards the eastern side of the Keweenaw. The best directions is Houghton as your starting point. Head towards Oskar on Houghton Canal Rd. for 4.2 miles, then turn left on Co Rd 554 for about 9 miles. Enjoy the ride.
