Playing Games in the SnowWinter Carnival 2010 has come and gone. The weather in the weeks leading up to Carny was less than ideal for building snow statues to say the least! Yes, impressive sculplues build on this years theme, "Games We Know Captured in Snow", filled the MTU Campus and surrounding community. Phi Kappa Tau repeated their first place efforts again this year. Congratulations, guys!

Winter in the Copper Country means miles and miles of cross country ski trails beckon to be explored. One of our favorite trails is the Chassell ski trail. It's a classic style trail accessible to all ages of skiers. For information on current trail conditions and how to purchase a trail pass to support the voluneer maintenance of many local trails, visit our friends at Keweenaw Trails.

Nothing feels quite like a bright, beautiful day after a fresh snowfall. Sure, I gripe now and then about haveing to clean off the car AGAIN...but I wouldn't live up here if I didn't love a good snowfall. Enjoy some of our favorite winter sights!
