Bear Bluff and the Bear Bluff Hiking Trail

The small blue Michigan Nature Association sign that lets you know you are heading in the right direction.  Trees along the trail will have blue markings on them to keep you in the right direction.

The steep climb up is not for someone out of shape.  Stop and rest if needed on the way up.  View is definitely worth the climb!

Originally known as Bare Hill, and later as Bear Bluff, Grinell is located near Lac La Belle and Bete Gris off Smith Fisheries Road. Grinnell contains a number of impressive geological features such as the 200 foot cliff that extends almost to the summit, 588 feet above the lake. A small waterfall can also be seen from the lake.
