The National Weather Service Office in Marquette resumed issuing the seasonal public forecast for Isle Royale National Park in late May 2005. The recreational forecast for Isle Royale will be issued twice daily, at 6:30 am and 6:30 pm through September 11th.
The seven day Recreational Forecast will be broadcast at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour on NOAA Weather Radio Station WXK-73, transmitting on a frequency of 162.400 MHz from Houghton. Boaters en route to Isle Royale can monitor NOAA Weather Radio on marine band channel WX2.
The recreational forecast will be available to the media via NOAA Weather Wire Service produce identifier AR-BRECMQT (SXUS43 KNQT).
In addition to the recreational forecast, the National Weather Service in Marquette issues severe storm warnings for Isle Royale and marine forecasts and special marine warnings for the open waters of Lake Superior between the Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale. These marine forecasts and warnings will be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio, will be available on the WEB at www.crh.noaa.gov/mqt/forecasts/marine and will be available to the media as products ARBGLFLS (FZUS63 KMQT) and ARBSMWMQT (WHUS53 KMQT) via the NOAA Weather Wire Service.
